Product Description Flamenco Jazz, and Jazz Fusion About the Artist Flamenco jazz and jazz fusion guitarist, James Robinson, originates from the San Francisco Bay Area. The music from his CD displays a wide range of styles. The styles reach from acoustic nylon and rhythmic steel string songs and high energy, electric jazz fusion band tunes. It is the result of over twenty years of guitar study, which has been as diverse as his love of music itself. James Robinson's most influential music education came from his family. He was born and raised into a musical family of thirteen children. His siblings greatly influenced his interest in a wide variety of music. He began studying the piano at the age of eight, and then moved to guitar by age twelve. A few years later, he began his classical guitar studies which took him through many years and several classical guitar instructors. Throughout his years of classical training, he maintained his study of many forms of music. His CD is a reflection of his love of music in many different genres.! His music displays the breadth of styles reflective of the acoustic works of John McLaughlin /Al DiMeola, the electric work of Allan Holdsworth and is reminiscent of Pat Metheny's New Chautauqua CD.
