Product Description The new release from longtime Pacific Northwest guitarist, singer and songwriter Brian Butler, RESTLESS STREET, contains twelve songs of diverse styles and instrumentation, eight of which are original compositions. Brian is featured on acoustic and electric guitar and is accompanied by talented associates contributing electric and acoustic bass, accordion, harmony vocals, organ, dobro and mandolin. The music has its roots in the blues and Brian displays the passion for the music that has earned him an solid reputation. Five numbers are performed with Brian solo on acoustic guitar and vocal and they summon the feeling of traditional blues. Brian's creative treatment of Big Bill Broonzy's "Louise", retains the plaintive appeal of the original. "Too Many Trips" and "Stars Across the Sky" are two original blues that showcase Brian's direct, powerful singing and acoustic guitar playing. The album's opening number, "Animule Hall" has a swinging jazz feel and some hot electric guitar to match the mood. "Restless Street" is a moody love song with a compelling rhythm. "Big Fire Now" has thought-provoking lyrics backed by an powerful, alternative country treatment. "Storm Warning", another Butler original, closes the album with moody accordion playing providing a stirring counterpart to this steamy tale of love in New Orleans. About the Artist Guitarist, singer and songwriter Brian Butler has been performing in the Pacific Northwest for 20+ years. He has earned a reputation as a excellent blues guitarist and singer, as well as songwriter. He performs in the Northwest with this band, The Brian Butler Band and also plays solo-acoustic shows. He performs at major festivals including Bumbershoot, NW Folklife, Winthrop Blues Festival and local concerts and clubs. The band has backed up Elvin Bishop, Eddie Taylor and Albert Collins in stints in the Northwest. He was named Best Acoustic Guitarist of 1993 by the Washington Blues Society.
