Amazon.com This two-disc set bears a most unfortunate title, considering its disappointing delivery. While Songs 4 Life contains contributions from some of today's best-loved, Dove Award-winning contemporary Christian artists--including Jaci Velasquez, Jars of Clay, DC Talk, Amy Grant, and Steven Curtis Chapman--the sequence and selections pale in comparison to the best material this genre has to offer. Little is outright awful, but even less reaches beyond mildly nice or overdone and stale. It's too bad there isn't greater diversity--there is no traditional gospel and other than Audio Adrenaline's "Man of God," the collection lacks any truly alternative coverage. Songs 4 Life, bland and safe, is a far cry from a mountaintop experience. --Paige La Grone
